Most of the items in the Materials Collection circulate. 

Check-out item limits: RISD students, faculty, staff: 30 items

Loan period: 4 weeks, renewable

Lost/damaged item fees:  $5.00 (or more, depending on the material and its replacement cost)

Materials must be returned in the condition that they were borrowed. If a student wants to use a particular material in a project, we may be able to assist in sourcing the material directly from a distributor. Not all of the materials in the collection are currently available in the marketplace.

While the materials collection is intended to be encyclopedic, we are happy to acquire samples to be added to the collection.
