Know Before You Go!

  • To access most of these databases, you must be logged in to the library website, or using a remote VPN.
  • Not every search result will be available in PDF.
    • If you see "Request through Interlibrary Loan," we can most likely get you a PDF copy. It will take a few days, but is worth it!
    • If you are re-directed into the library catalog, it's something we have in print. Access may be difficult given the current circumstances.
  • If you see a "Full Text Access" button, click it to filter results to those available now (mostly in PDF).
  • Visit our Fleet Search guide to learn more advanced skills.

JSTOR & ArtSTOR

Many databases are expanding their access to articles and resources to help students and faculty while classes are completely online.

Databases A-Z

While many students use Fleet Search for most of their scholarly article searches, there are more granular options.

Use our Databases A-Z page to browse all of RISD's subscriptions, which cover articles, books, films, images, and other formats. Below is a list of our largest and most commonly used article databases.
