RISD Unbound is an event celebrating artists’ books, zines, and experimental printed matter created by RISD students and community, local artists and designers, as well as publishers, artists, designers, and enthusiasts from across the region. Through exhibits and sales, Unbound seeks to inspire conversations around cultural publishing in the Providence community. RISD Unbound is free and open to the public!

VISIT

Unbound will take place Saturday, April 6 from 11am–5pm at RISD’s Fleet Library: 15 Westminster Street, Providence RI 02903.

Kick-off event

Join us the evening of Friday, April 5th for Collaborative Publishing/ Collective Voices, a panel discussion with Pouya Ahmadi (RISD, Associate Professor, Graphic Design, Amalgam), Andre Lee Bassuet (Brown University, Adjunct Lecturer, Book Arts, Roots: Korean Diaspora), Tycho Horan (Binch Press/Queer.Archive.Work), and Erin Zona (Womens Studio Workshop), moderated by Paul Soulellis (RISD, Department Head, Graphic Design). Panelists will present recent work that engages communities and anchors a conversation, to follow, about possibilities, definitions, limitations, and other considerations of working collaboratively. A reception will follow. 6:30pm–8pm in the Graphic Design Commons (Design Center Room 103, Floor 1 31 Canal Walk). Co-hosted by RISD’s Fleet Library, Architecture & Design Division, and Graphic Design Department.

How do I get to the fair?

The fair is located on the 1st floor of Fleet Library at RISD in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. The building entrance is at 15 Westminster Street. Fleet Library is easily accessible by public transportation.

Where do I park?

Designated public parking lots and garages are located throughout downtown Providence. Metered street parking is also available throughout Providence. Rules and restrictions are posted on signs along the streets.
