How to Return Library Materials

Do you have books, DVDs, picture files, or materials checked out from Fleet Library?

We are extending due dates to October 11 for most checked-out items. You may keep items until Fall semester, or return them early (and if you need longer, don't hesitate to contact us).

Here are two ways you can return library materials:

  1. Book drop: If you are in the Providence area, you can use the book drop just inside the front doors of 15 Westminster Street (by Public Safety) anytime.
  2. Mail items to us: Fill out this form to start the process - we can send you a prepaid shipping label, or reimburse you with RISDbucks (keep the receipt!).

Our mailing address:

Fleet Library at RISD
2 College Street
Providence, RI 02903

Did you get a bill?

We are working to help keep everyone fee-free for the duration of this pandemic.

However, if you were issued a bill for overdue fines or missing items before RISD's March closure, you probably still owe the library money. If you are a graduating student, there is a chance this will affect your ability to access transcripts.

We want to help! Please contact Mark Sweeney (msweeney@risd.edu) for information.

Interlibrary Loan

If you have a book borrowed through Interlibrary Loan (ILL), we are trying to get those back in a timely manner. Please contact Gail Geisser (ggeisser@risd.edu) to coordinate.

How do you know the book is from ILL? It should have a paper wrapper around the front cover with information about the other library we borrowed it from. If you lost the paper wrapper, don't worry. We would still like it back :)
