Int|AR JOURNAL: RESEARCH AND CRITICAL ANALYSIS

The Int|AR Journal is an academic publication of the Department of Interior Architecture that focuses on design interventions and adaptive reuse. Students will be introduced to the process of design journalism both from the standpoint of content development and production. The course will include the production of common contents such as a cover and the general layout as well as research for the upcoming Volume 04, Difficult Memories. Utilizing the research methods discussed in class, students will investigate the relevance of the topic to architecture, urbanism, and landscape design. The course will be a combination of seminar style discussions and design crits/reviews. Writing and graphic design skills are a prerequisite to the course. Proficiency with InDesign software recommended. Interior Arch majors (non-majors with Instructor Permission)
