Printmaking

An introductory guide to library resources for Printmaking.

Introduction

Serigraphy or screenprinting is a stencil based process "in which the color applied is focused through silk or other fine-mesh cloth" to produce an image on the print surface. Screenprinting "has its roots in the production of wall decoration, ceramics, and fabrics by the ancient cultures of the Egyptians, Chinese, and Japanese."  The Printmaking Bible (p. 14)
