The RISD Library received 1213 books from Lowthorpe in 1945. The entire Lowthorpe Collection includes works donated by Frederick Law Olmstead, Jr. In 1948 the library received a $600 donation from Landscape Architecture Professor Elizabeth Pattee in memory of L. Louise Hetzer, former Dean of the Lowthorpe School. The funds were raised by Lowthorpe School alumni. The Library continues to purchase books with the Hetzer Fund.
