American Photographic Artists (APA) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(6) association of photographers working in the advertising, editorial, and entertainment industries. APA's mission is to advocate, elevate, and educate the professional photographic community.

We promote the art and science of nature photography as a medium of communication, nature appreciation, and environmental protection.

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is the world’s largest nonprofit photography association organized for professional photographers, by professional photographers, with 35,000 creative members in more than 50 countries.

PPA publishes Professional Photographer magazine, which celebrated its 100th year in 2007. Born in 1907, Professional Photographer is now the largest paid circulation magazine in the professional photographic industry and the official publication for Professional Photographers of America. No other magazine offers a more influential presentation of the people, trends, products, and photographs changing and defining the portrait, wedding and commercial photography landscape.

ASP is a society of professional photographic artists who aspire to maintain the highest level of excellence by adhering to ethical standards, stimulating creativity and continually refining technical competence. The goal of the organization is to promote education, foster fellowship and perpetuate the ideals of photography as a science and an art.
