This collection is comprised of unpublished process materials for 32 artist's books produced by Angela Lorenz from 1986 to 2006. These materials show the development of book ideas, texts, and structures through research articles and notes, sketches and other various scraps left over from the bookmaking process. Materials include drawings and water color paintings on paper, printing plates, test prints, dies, book mock-ups and models, discarded versions, extra printed and fabricated pages, and a wide assortment of paper, cloth, tools, paint tubes, brushes, rubber gloves, sewing notions, dolls, pencil stubs and shavings, soap scraps, bits of mica, and other bookmaking detritus. Material samples employ letterpress printing, copper plate etching, water color paintings, rubbings, embossing, photography, and die cuts. Works of art from childhood are also included as well as process materials for several early books, made while a student.

This collection is comprised of unpublished process materials for the artists' books produced by Ruth Laxson and unpublished notes for various lectures. These materials show the development of ideas and text, through handwritten and typed research notes, clippings from newspapers, and sketches in pen or pencil on paper. Camera ready pages show original art work, color separations and distinct layers of text and image. These include drawings on paper; collages; and ink drawings on acetate, some with colored paper, clipped photographs, or film negatives attached. Test prints include text printed by hand on the letterpress, etchings, some with chine collé, and text/images printed in offset lithography, rubber stamp, or silkscreen. Extra printed pages include some that were not included in the final books. Book mock-ups and binding models show the development of ideas for structure and materials. Additional materials include 35 mm slides of art work, biographical scrapbooks, personal and business correspondence, mail art correspondence, articles in published journals, and personal diaries.
