Open Textbooks & Courses

Open textbooks and other course materials such as modules, quizzes, and videos are increasingly popular in college classrooms, as the quality and quantity of this material grows. Better yet, today many open textbooks are peer reviewed.

Most open textbooks are available in PDF, ePub, and other digital formats that can be printed out as desired. Open licensing allows instructors to pick and choose what they like from existing textbooks, make their own modified versions, or even publish textbooks openly! To learn more about editing and authoring open textbooks, visit the More Resources page or speak to a librarian.
