Research Process Group Presentations

In your group presentation, walk us through the research steps you took to find out about your topic:

  • Discuss your approach to researching your topic - how you started, the decisions you made about how and where to search - use the concept map to describe the process
  • Demonstrate knowledge of using the sources  - what keywords, synonyms, related terms, and subject headings you used and found, what features did you find most useful; how to download an image; how to find a print article in the library
  • Evaluate the information you find (all formats - CRAAP)
  • Address questions the process produced- anything you didn't understand or stopped your research process

searching behaviors

2 ways we look for information:

we search on our own

using a search engine

google

library catalogs - RISD/ATH, Brown, worldcat

specialised art & architecture databases

or

we ask someone

friends + peers + family - social network

experts - professors + librarians
